GoPro HD Snowboarding at Bear Mountain

Think Feel Pictures presents GoPro HD Snowboarding at Bear Mountain, California!! The video features the song Gorilla Meat by Jogger off the album This Great Pressure.

This was an awesome day at Bear Mountain. The resort had recently gotten 6″-12″ of fresh snow and had a 7-foot base. We spent most of the day in Bow Canyon off of chair 8, hiking to get away from as many tracks as possible.

The entire video was shot with the GoPro HD Hero Camera. We used the R3 setting, which is 1280x720 at 60fps. The cameramen were Alex Appelbe and George Brooks. There were two basic camera set-ups. We attached the GoPro to a ski pole and then to a helmet. Both set ups gave us amazing results.

David Meador did the editing. The footage was conformed in Apple’s compressor from 60fps to 30fps, changing the footage to slow motion. After that, the video was edited and color corrected using Final Cut Pro 6. The opening and closing titles were done using Apple Motion 3.

Park City Skiing

Just got back from Park City, Utah. We filmed at Park City Mountain Resort, The Canyons, and Alta. The first two days were at The Canyons and Alta. The snow was awesome at both resorts. It snowed on and off the first day at The Canyons. The next day at Alta was mostly sunny with 10″ of fresh powder.

The last day was spent at Park City Mountain Resort. The sun was shining and there were lots of amazingly talented skiers and snowboarders flying off the jumps! Couldn't have asked for a better way to end the trip. Hope to make it back to Utah before the year ends. Now it's time to edit!

Filming with the GoPro HD Hero at Bear Mountain yesterday was pretty close to epic. There was 6″-12″ of new snow. We spent most of the day filming off of chair 8. Excited to see how the footage turned out!
